NieuwsFiets Media & Events Proposes New International OEM Trade Show for October 2027

BRR Analysis
NieuwsFiets Media & Events has announced plans for a new international OEM trade show, CycleExpo Amsterdam, set to debut from October 6-8, 2027, at Expo Greater Amsterdam in Vijfhuizen. Positioned as a “new alternative meeting place” for the global bicycle industry, this initiative aims to provide a dedicated platform for original equipment manufacturers, signaling a potential shift in the established trade show landscape.
This development arrives amidst a period of flux for the cycling industry's B2B event calendar, following the recent contraction and re-evaluation of larger, more established shows. With Eurobike having pivoted and other regional events struggling for relevance, a new, OEM-focused platform could fill a perceived void. The 2027 timeline suggests a long-term strategic play, allowing ample time for industry buy-in and avoiding immediate clashes with existing commitments.
Whether the industry truly needs another major event, or if this is simply a bold, albeit distant, gamble on a shifting market, remains to be seen. One suspects the success will hinge entirely on who shows up, and more importantly, who doesn't.
