Trofeo Alfredo Binda course adjusted after snowfall, final circuits unaffected

Sunday's Women's WorldTour Trofeo Alfredo Binda saw its course significantly altered due to overnight snowfall. Organisers were compelled to remove the first classified climb, the Piccolo Stelvio, and its immediate surroundings from the route, deeming the conditions too hazardous for racing. While the initial 40km of the race were rerouted to avoid the treacherous sections, the crucial final circuits, including the challenging climb to Orino, remain unaffected, preserving the race's traditional decisive features.

This last-minute change, while disruptive, highlights the perennial challenge of early-season European racing, where adverse weather frequently dictates terms. For a race like Binda, renowned for its challenging parcours and often a bellwether for spring classics form, maintaining the integrity of the closing laps was paramount.
